Church Done Differently

Join Us This Sunday

If Sunday will be your first time at StoryHeights Church, we’re excited and can’t wait to meet you! We recommend arriving about 10-15 minutes early to leave time for parking, checking children into kid’s ministry, and being ushered to your seat. You can expect a 65-minute service starting with live music where a talented group of vocalists and instrumentalists will lead everyone in a few songs. If this is unfamiliar to you, please don’t be concerned. After the music, you’ll hear a relevant and life-giving message from the Bible by one of our lead pastors or a member of our teaching team. Every week we have new attendees (just like you) join us for the first time, and we won’t call you out or embarrass you. So don’t worry, you’re not alone!

We hope to see you in person soon!

See What People Are Saying

They make you feel like family from the moment you walk in the door. Pastors Tyler and Crystal are amazing. They do their best to connect with everyone and they have a team of people as caring and loving as they are. This church is all about serving our community and going after the one. The best part about this church is that it is full of real people doing life together with the support of amazing Pastors.

Vicki PrinceI love this Church!

Pastors Crystal and Tyler have created a "framily" atmosphere that’s welcome these days.

Matt RobertsWe immediately knew this is where we should be when we transplanted into Boston.

For a girl who went to Catholic school, was devout in volunteering within the church, and making my confirmation—I never imagined I’d be attending a non-denominational church.
For the first time - StoryHeights made my relationship with Jesus alive. Relationships there grounded me when I was alone, and the lessons and messages shared weekly are ones that are so easy to connect with. StoryHeights is what I always wished my church was growing up. Real. Raw. Full of Love. Accepting.

Christina de AraujoGoing to StoryHeights made me reevaluate my life’s story and I’m grateful!

This church is filled with real people living life in all the daily challenges it brings. They present their genuine selves and confront all the issues and mess they are. And that makes for a church that is comfortable and spirit-filled as each person grows to be more godly.
We made StoryHeights our home because the people loved us and loved our kids. The services are amazing, too, with an excellent worship band, messages that encourage and challenge you in personal spiritual growth, and a Kids team that brings together an environment young ones can engage in.

David NannemannYou’ll find more than a church service at StoryHeights; you’ll find a family you can do life with together.

What a great local church that serves local needs. There’s only one agenda/purpose here and that’s to connect people to Jesus Christ.

Ian PohMy kids love the kid's ministry and are constantly asking “when are we going to church?”

Finding a church family in New England was hard for us. But the moment we walked into Story Heights Church we knew it was our home. Everyone is so friendly! They make sure to let you know they’re glad you’re there (without being too pushy!). I’m so glad we found this place!

Deanna MarieWalk in as a stranger, leave as family.

We moved in August and started going to this church because of the people and how caring and welcoming they were during a time of uncertainty for us. They have put safety protocols during COVID to keep the community safe which we were extremely grateful for!

Susana KellyAn awesome church that's caring in the Newton area.

I joined this church after looking for a church community that would challenge me to do more than just consume, but contribute! I made authentic friendships I still have to this day, grew in my ability to minister to adults AND kids, gained a deeper understanding of God’s word, and got to be the hands and feet of Jesus Christ by serving the Greater Boston community (as we're called to as believers)! This is not your average church; this church is meant to take you higher! If you’re looking to stay the same or be stagnant in your walk with God, this may not be the best fit. But if you’re ready to stop playing church and actually be a part of a real community committed to advancing the kingdom of God, come running!

Andrea Paola OputaThis is not your average church; this church is meant to take you higher!

FAQs

Do people have to tithe/give?

The teaching of giving at StoryHeights is identical to the teaching of most evangelical Christian churches around the world and across many denominations, as it is based on Scripture. Furthermore, all Christian churches receive financial offerings and rely on these to function. All giving at StoryHeights Church is discretionary and while we believe in the biblical principle of ‘tithing’ (giving a percentage of income to God through the ministry of the local church) no one is told they “have to” tithe, ever pressured to tithe or even to give at all. We call the offering a ‘free will’ offering for a reason – and many people let the offering containers pass them by without contributing anything.

How is Pastor Tyler Tullos paid?

Pastor Tyler Tullos is paid a salary determined by the StoryHeights Church Compensation board, as are all of our church staff. His salary is determined independently – a decision that he is not a part of.

Am I required to become a member?

We believe one of the greatest opportunities for spiritual growth is to not just attend a church service, but rather to commit yourself to a local church body in community, service, and relationship. We do have a formal membership assimilation process in place for those desiring this type of relationship with the local church; however, it is not a requirement for participation in our ministry or to attend our services.  You will have the opportunity to place formal membership through our Growth Track Ministry.  You are, however, welcome to attend, serve and participate with all volunteers as a non-member if you feel membership is not right for you at this time.

What is StoryHeights’ doctrine of beliefs?

Our statement of belief may be found on our Our Beliefs page.
