Make a Difference In the Mattapan Community
Here’s How To Get Involved
We need help during store operating hours! Volunteers will help keep the store running, greet customers, and be a part of revitalizing Mattapan Square. Every volunteer slot that is filled helps us stay customer and people-focused, so we can engage with the community and make sure everyone who enters the store feels welcomed, loved, and known. Time slots are 1-3 hours and can be flexible. Sign up via the link below and someone will follow up with you.
Training is provided, and hours are flexible. Pick the day that works for you, and you can decide the length of time + hours that you volunteer.
Shop our Amazon Wishlist (and don’t forget to use Amazon Smile) to supply the store with these items! We’re always in need of diapers, formula, and brand-new baby items. This amazon wishlist is our list of high-demand items. Purchases come straight to us!
If you have items to donate to the store please see the donation link below. Appointments are required for all donations.
If you’d like to donate items to the Blessing Barn, please follow the instructions located at the link below. We accept gently used: kitchen items, household items, home decor, baby items, clothing, linens, toys, shoes, and jewelry. All linen and clothing must be laundered before being donated. At this time, we cannot accept furniture donations. You can request to donate furniture to the Mendon store by clicking here.
Appointments are required for all donations.
The Crisis Center is a place for individuals to receive help, counseling, and assistance for all sorts of needs. Our primary program is the fill-in program where individuals have immediate needs (like diapers, formula, kitchen items, clothes etc.) met. We need volunteers who are willing to be trained to be available by appointment to work with fill-in program clients.
Training will be provided and is mandatory.

Since starting StoryHeights in 2012, we’ve had our eye on this corner of the city. From various partnerships with organizations in the area to connections through StoryHeights members and congregants Mattapan has always been on our hearts. In 2016 God gave us the vision to open a retail shop in Mattapan Square. We stayed faithful to that vision and our partners in the area. After 5 years of waiting and praying, in Early 2021 the opportunity to open Blessing Barn Mattapan came up, and we took a leap forward in faith! Since opening in April of 2021, we’ve seen incredible favor and blessing from city officials and community members. We’ve helped countless individuals, and are humbled and honored to be a part of the vibrant community in Mattapan.
The Blessing Barn Homestore in Mattapan is open Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 10am until 4pm.
