Why do I Want Jesus?

Why do I Want Jesus?

In this message, we're challenged to examine our relationship with Jesus. Are we seeking Him for who He is, or merely for what He can do for us? The story from Luke 12:13-21 serves as a stark reminder of how easily we can miss the point. Just like the man who interrupted Jesus to settle a family dispute, we often approach God with our shopping list of requests, treating Him like a cosmic vending machine. But Jesus calls us to something deeper - a life of readiness and service to His kingdom. This isn't about getting what we want; it's about aligning our hearts with God's purposes. We're urged to guard against greed and to remember that life's true measure isn't in what we own, but in our relationship with Christ. As we reflect on this, let's ask ourselves: Are we truly seeking Jesus' face, or just His hand? Are we ready for His return, or too caught up in our own agendas?
